DAY 1 (Session 1) – COMPOSITION & ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Before even thinking about picking up a camera, knowing the foundations of composition is a must-have skill!
The secret of a photograph that makes you stop and go ‘wow’ is not the latest camera or most expensive lens (despite what camera manufacturers will tell you), it’s the proportion of subject to background, it’s leading lines, it’s contrasting colors, it’s beautiful framing.
You can have the most expensive lens in the world, but if you don’t know how to angle your shot to capture someone in their best light, your pictures will not sell nor impress.
If your composition is strong, you can take great photos. One can learn a few articles about composition and feel satisfied, but there is nothing like practicing in the field with the actual camera in your hand and having instant feedback, going back and improving your image.
In this practical session, you will learn the rules of composition and then practice the same using your camera, with personalized feedback from the instructor.
This is a point-and-shoot / phone-camera friendly session and you are welcome to use your DSLR too. After this session, the students get the wow moment seeing how awesome their own photography becomes, with just a bit of attention to some of the basic concepts.
